Points Africa, a Ghana-based fintech, has launched Sub-Saharan Africa's first shared loyalty network, allowing multiple merchants to issue and redeem a single reward currency. The platform, which raised $2 million from VestedWorld, aggregates points from transactions across sectors like telecom, retail, and transport into a central wallet. Partners include MTN, Jumia, Uber, Melcom, Star Oil, and Access Bank. Customers earn points through purchases at participating merchants, which can be redeemed across the network. The system uses AI to predict customer retention and trigger personalized offers. Points Africa generates revenue by facilitating reward transactions between partners. The network launched in Ghana in December 2025 and plans to expand into Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya over the next 18 months.
