The police said the team used carried out a swift operation that led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle from an uncompleted building in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State. “The stolen vehicle was successfully recovered through intelligence-led investigation and swift tactical operation,” the statement said. During the operation, three suspects believed to be part of an interstate car theft network were arrested. They were identified as Shuaibu Abdullahi, 37, from Gombe State; Shuaibu Zakariya, 24, from Bauchi State; and Abdurahman Ibrahim, 35, from Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State. Police said the suspects are currently in custody and have made useful statements, adding that investigations are ongoing and they will be charged in court once the process is completed. The Commissioner of Police commended the officers involved in the operation for their professionalism and swift response. He said the success of the operation shows the command’s “capacity, discipline, and commitment in tackling complex crimes,” in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu. The police chief also assured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state. He urged members of the public to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information, and to adopt safety measures such as using steering locks, parking vehicles in secure places, and reporting suspicious activities in their communities. The command warned criminal elements to stay away from crime, stressing that the police will continue to use all legal means to arrest and prosecute offenders.
