During questioning, the suspect reportedly said he bought 12 cows from a paramount ruler in Plateau State but was only able to transport 11 due to limited space. Further investigation led to the identification of the owner of the cattle, Abdullahi Adamu, from Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. “Adamu explained that the animals were part of a herd of 57 cattle that were rustled in May 2025 by armed youths, and efforts to recover them had failed until now,” Makama wrote. Security sources said the recovered cows are now safe, while investigations are ongoing to uncover others involved in the theft and sale of the livestock.
