Pope Leo XIV will make a historic one-day visit to Monaco on March 28, 2026, followed by a four-nation tour of Algeria, Cameroon, Angola and Equatorial Guinea from April 13 to 23, 2026. This marks the first papal visit to Algeria, a North African Muslim-majority country where the pope belongs to the Augustinian order founded in the 13th century. The trip will focus on interfaith dialogue and peace efforts, particularly in Cameroon and Angola where separatist conflicts continue to affect civilians. The Vatican announced the itinerary on February 25, 2026.
