Primate Ayodele denies claiming Tinubu will lose 2027 election

Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has denied ever stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election. In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele said his actual words during a Sunday live service were: ‘If Tinubu loses the election, it will be painful for him.’ He said the remark was taken out of context and deliberately twisted to read as ‘Tinubu would lose in 2027,’ despite video evidence of the full statement. Ayodele added that it is not yet time for him to reveal who will win the election, but he will do so when appropriate. He warned political actors and media houses to stop misrepresenting his prophecies for personal gain, urging journalists to contact his media office for clarification instead of publishing false reports. He described the trend as unprofessional and irresponsible, calling on media organisations to uphold professional standards and seek the truth before publishing.
