Primate Ayodele warns youths: Nigerian politicians are evil, don’t die for them
Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, warned Nigerian youths not to risk their lives for politicians, describing them as evil and saying they use and dump desperate people, especially youths. In a video sighted by DAILY POST on X on Monday, Ayodele said politicians offer small financial gains like N500,000 to exploit youths ahead of the 2027 elections, warning that if anything happens to the youths, it is their own headache. He asked whether politicians would send their own children to do the dangerous tasks they ask youths to perform, stating that politicians only help those within the system.
This warning matters because politicians often recruit youths as thugs or enforcers for political campaigns, offering paltry sums that can lead to loss of life, injury, or legal trouble. As the 2027 election approaches, youths face increased pressure to accept such roles for quick cash, but the long-term costs—including possible death or imprisonment—far outweigh any short-term gain. Recognizing this pattern helps youths make safer choices and resist manipulation.
Youths should refuse to be used as political expendables, prioritize their safety and future over immediate cash offers, and question whether politicians would risk their own families for the same tasks. Instead of accepting dangerous work for N500,000, they can seek legitimate livelihoods, engage in peaceful civic participation, or report coercive attempts to authorities. Staying informed and united reduces the chance of being exploited.
