PRP National Chairman Hakeem Baba-Ahmed confirmed on Thursday that former Cross River Governor Donald Duke has met all requirements to be the party's 2027 presidential candidate. Baba-Ahmed stated Duke applied like all other candidates, complied with screening processes, and participated in the mandatory consensus meeting online despite being out of the country.

The PRP leader emphasized that Duke's absence from the physical meeting wasn't a breach of rules, as he joined the three-person consensus meeting from the southern region of the country online. 'He did everything that every candidate of the PRP should do,' Baba-Ahmed clarified during an Arise Television interview.
