PSC screens out 121,596 applicants from Nigeria Police recruitment
Nigeria Police Force recruitment saw 161,873 applications, with 121,596 applicants screened out. 434,604 qualified for the next stage, while 60,674 applications were invalid. 348,974 applied for General Duty roles and 85,630 for Specialist positions. 442,592 male and 114,640 female applicants participated. Chairman Taiwo Lakanu announced a two-week deadline extension to address state participation disparities. Adamawa led with 38,989 applications, followed by Benue (34,511), Kaduna (30,397), and Borno (24,009). Lowest applications came from Ebonyi (1,667), Anambra (1,739), Bayelsa (2,430), and Lagos (2,448). Lakanu stated this reflects Federal Character principles. Physical screening and verification of credentials now begin.
