PSG's Enrique: 'I don't care' as critics attack 5-4 win over Bayern
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique dismissed criticism of his team's 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg, declaring 'not all opinions deserve respect' if they're poor ones. 'There are individuals who appreciate playing football in this manner, which is the majority, and I count myself among them,' Enrique said in a pre-match briefing against FC Lorient.
His remarks came after Wayne Rooney questioned how PSG's defenders could be satisfied despite conceding four goals in a winning performance: 'I don't understand how, as a player or a coach, regardless of winning the game, you can be content after conceding four or five goals.'
PSG advances to the second leg next week with a narrow advantage, but significant defensive questions remain. Four PSG players were named in UEFA's Champions League team of the week following their high-scoring victory. Is this entertaining football or defensive negligence that could cost them the trophy?
