Putin benefits from US-Iran conflict – Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy states Russia has become the major winner from the US-Israel conflict with Iran. The Trump administration gave countries 30 days to buy Russian oil and petroleum products stuck at sea due to sanctions, aiming to lower rising oil prices from Middle East conflict. This move provides Moscow with funds for its Ukraine war. Zelenskyy told the BBC: "Putin wants a long war. For Putin, the Iranian campaign is a plus. High energy prices mean US resources are diverted, weakening US ability to support Ukraine. Air defence shortages also benefit Russia. So it's good for Putin that resources aren't used against Ukraine." Analysts confirm sanctions relaxation funds Russia's war effort.
