PZ Cussons proposes N2.50 dividend after 3-year halt, offers share alternative
PZ Cussons Nigeria proposes to end its three-year dividend hiatus with a N2.50 per share payout or share alternative for the year ended May 2026. The N9.9 billion distribution requires shareholder approval at the October AGM, with October 9 as qualification date and October 30 for payment.
This follows a N90.3 billion net loss in 2024 from foreign exchange shocks that kept retained earnings negative until 2026. Recovery came from a 349% profit jump to N45.2 billion, fueled by N38.7 billion in asset disposal proceeds, alongside 22.5% turnover growth to N260.5 billion from improved home and personal care sales.
Shareholders choosing shares will receive based on the ten-day NGX average share price starting October 12. The last dividend was paid in 2022 before forex pressures halted payouts.
Will you confirm your eligibility for the October 9 qualification date, decide whether cash or shares better serves your portfolio goals, or plan how to allocate the expected N2.50 per share if shareholders approve this October?
