This was announced in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Special Duties, Hon. Auwal D. Sankara. According to the statement, the programme was initiated by Governor Malam Umar A. According to the statement ” some contractors were found to have engaged in acts of negligence, including providing substandard meals, failing to pay cooks their entitlements, mismanaging public resources, and in some cases skipping cooking days altogether” The ministry said it has already begun the process of replacing the affected contractors with more competent ones to ensure the smooth continuation of the programme. It further assured residents that the government remains committed to maintaining quality and transparency in the implementation of the Ramadan feeding initiative. Sankara noted that the state government would not tolerate any act that could undermine the objective of the programme, stressing that the welfare of the people of Jigawa State remains a top priority for the administration.
