Sponsored content: President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Cities initiative has drawn over 100,000 expressions of interest from Nigerians across public, private and informal sectors, with over 10,000 firm subscriptions and thousands of allocation letters and mortgages already issued. The flagship project in Karsana, Abuja, is nearing completion of 2,400 housing units, while in Janguza, Kano, 350 units are finished and 650 under construction for delivery by March 2027. In Lagos, the Lagos‑Calabar Coastal Highway has opened the Lekki‑Epe corridor, prompting work on 2,004 units along Monastery Road, with the first 550 expected by April 2027. New sites are underway in Jibi (Abuja outskirts) with 2,000 units planned and Kagini, Abuja (phase two) with 1,200 units, plus planned developments in Asaba, Ibadan, Katsina, Enugu, the Sagamu‑Papalanto Road corridor and Port Harcourt, aiming eventually to house 100 million Nigerians.

A central pillar is the directive to the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria to extend mortgages to National Housing Fund contributors; more than 2,000 Nigerians have benefited and over 10,000 additional applications are being processed. Infrastructure support includes government‑funded access roads, with the first phase of the Karsana access road completed. Cooperatives and MDAs such as NMDPRA, NUPRC and NRS are covering staff equity contributions—NMDPRA alone funded a 30 % equity stake for its 430 beneficiaries, setting a replicable model for employee homeownership.

If you are interested, check eligibility via the National Housing Fund, monitor project completion dates (Karsana soon, Kano March 2027, Lagos April 2027), and consider joining a cooperative or staff association that offers equity support to participate in the scheme.
