Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is using the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York to pitch the state as a top investment destination. Speaking with journalists, Fubara said the goal is to give Rivers State visibility and showcase its endowed oil and gas resources and other sectors. He added that the UNGA platform will open business opportunities for investors with serious needs and help the state secure financing and investment deals.

The governor emphasized that the push aligns with his administration’s economic reforms, especially the creation of the Rivers State Investment Promotion Agency (RSIPA) as a one‑stop shop for facilitating and protecting investments. He assured that Rivers State remains peaceful, stable and open for business, highlighting opportunities in oil and gas, agriculture, the blue economy, manufacturing and renewable energy. Rivers State is among the Nigerian sub‑national governments at UNGA 81, with scheduled meetings involving development finance institutions, multinational corporations and diaspora investors.

For investors looking at Nigeria, which of Rivers State’s highlighted sectors—oil and gas, agriculture, blue economy, manufacturing or renewable energy—best fits your strategy, and how does the state’s promise of peace and stability affect your decision?
