Roberto Carlos says Cristiano Ronaldo can play another ten years before retiring
Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos says Cristiano Ronaldo can play for another ten years before retirement, he told Spanish outlet AS ahead of Portugal’s Nations League match against Wales. Ronaldo, currently 41 and playing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, is described by Carlos as a physical phenomenon who remains happy representing Portugal and enjoys continuing his football career. The comment comes as Lionel Messi recently retired from international football, leaving Ronaldo as one of the last active icons of his generation.
For Nigerian football fans, Ronaldo’s extended career means more opportunities to watch his performances in the Saudi Pro League, potential appearances in future international friendlies or tournaments, and continued motivation for aspiring athletes locally. His presence keeps global attention on leagues outside Europe, which could influence broadcasting deals and youth development programs that look to emulate his professionalism and longevity.
Given Ronaldo’s claim of another decade at the top, will you follow his Al-Nassr matches more closely, or does his longevity shift how you view realistic career spans for athletes in today’s sport?
