Ronaldo leaves Portugal camp after coach row, heads to Saudi amid farewell doubts
Ronaldo left the Portugal national team training camp in Malmö after a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus, departing a day before the side's UEFA Nations League match against Denmark. He flew by private jet to Madrid and then returned to Saudi Arabia to rejoin his Al-Nassr club. Former Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic told ABOLA that every football fan feels sad for Ronaldo and believes he deserves a dignified farewell befitting one of the greatest players of all time. He noted Ronaldo's relentless competitive drive but said the coach's view must also be respected, seeing it as a clash of perspectives. The incident casts doubt on Ronaldo's future with Portugal, especially as the Selecao prepare for upcoming Nations League fixtures. Portugal recently beat Norway 2-1 and lead their group with 12 points from four wins, but his absence could affect squad planning and fan sentiment, with an immediate reconciliation appearing unlikely. Will the Portuguese Football Federation negotiate a dignified exit for Ronaldo, or should he prioritize national team duties despite personal ambitions? Fans seeking clarity can follow official Portugal FA updates for any news on his international future.
