Roqqu has launched tokenized stocks, enabling users to buy and manage tokenized versions of publicly traded global shares directly through its app, eliminating the need for separate brokerage accounts. The tokenized stocks mirror the value of underlying shares and are designed to simplify investing by offering a mobile‑first experience that combines stock and digital asset investing in one platform. According to CEO Benjamin Onomor, tokenization reshapes access to financial products by overcoming geography, infrastructure, and regulatory limits, allowing assets to move at internet speed and settle around the clock.

This launch matters for Nigerian investors seeking easier entry into international markets, especially as global interest in tokenized real‑world assets (RWAs) grows. Roqqu notes the product lowers barriers to entry by letting users start with smaller amounts while managing investments alongside other digital assets. The timing coincides with regulatory developments in Nigeria’s virtual asset sector: the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently admitted seven firms—Bitbarter Technologies, Luno Fintech Nigeria, GetEquity, Koinkoin Global Network, Wrapped CBDC, Trovotech, and Blockvault Custodian—into its Accelerated Regulatory Incubation Programme (ARIP). Additionally, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed the Presidential Executive Order on Virtual Assets Coordination 2026, and the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) issued guidelines imposing a 30% corporate income tax on cryptocurrency and virtual asset profits earned by medium and large companies.

Will you use tokenized stocks to diversify your portfolio, or wait for clearer regulation and tax guidance before committing funds?
