Rufai Oseni cautions Nigerians against expecting Osun 2026 repeat in 2027 polls, warns of heightened federal force
Arise TV's Rufai Oseni warned Nigerians on Monday not to assume the 2026 Osun State governorship election outcome will replicate in the 2027 general elections. Speaking after INEC declared Accord Party's Ademola Adeleke winner of the Osun poll on Sunday, Oseni stated that believing similar results would come easily in 2027 is 'delusional.'
He explained that federal authorities deployed significant resources during the Osun election but could apply 'three times over' such force in the 2027 polls. Oseni emphasized his Osun warnings aimed to help voters understand risks, not scare them, stressing Nigerians must prepare for 2027's challenges by knowing the dangers involved.
Oseni urged citizens to reject sugarcoated assessments and instead conduct honest risk evaluations for the upcoming national elections, arguing that preparations based on Osun's outcome would prove inadequate given expected escalation in federal intervention tactics.
