SEC targets 20m new investors via fintech partnerships
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) aims to attract 20 million new investors by 2026 through fintech collaboration. Capital Market Academics of Nigeria (CMAN) President Uche Uwaleke emphasized partnerships with fintech firms for seamless onboarding and real-time market data access. He stressed product innovation for small-ticket investors and institutionalizing financial literacy programs. Current investor base is under 1 million, compared to South Africa's deeper market. SEC has formed a liquidity working group to drive this initiative.
