Shooting Stars beat Ranchers Bees 3-1 to end winless run in NPFL

Shooting Stars ended their five-game winless run in the Nigeria Premier Football League with a 3-1 victory over Ranchers Bees on October 16, 2026. Desmond Ojietefian opened the scoring in the 14th minute for the Oluyole Warriors, but Isah Ndala Aliyu equalised for Ranchers Bees seven minutes before halftime. Damilola Akinola restored Shooting Stars's lead late in the first half, and Qamar Adegoke added a third goal 19 minutes from time to seal the win.

The result lifted Shooting Stars out of the relegation zone, easing pressure on technical adviser Salisu Yusuf, while Ranchers Bees slipped into the drop zone following the defeat. With both teams now battling for survival, the outcome reshapes the lower-half table as the league heads into Matchday Nine’s remaining fixtures scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

What does this mean for each side’s survival hopes? Will Shooting Stars build on this momentum to climb further clear of danger, or will Ranchers Bees regroup and fight their way back out of the relegation battle in the upcoming weekend matches?
