Shooting Stars sign Yusuf from Bayelsa United for 2026-27 NPFL season

Shooting Stars have completed the signing of defender Issa Yusuf from Bayelsa United for the 2026-27 Nigeria Premier Football League season. Yusuf agreed to a one-year contract with the Ibadan-based Oluyole Warriors. He made 25 appearances and scored twice for Bayelsa United in the previous season.

The signing aims to strengthen Shooting Stars' defence ahead of the new campaign. Coach Nurudeen Aweroro expects Yusuf to hit the ground running as the team looks to improve on its previous season's performance. Shooting Stars will also compete in the CAF Confederation Cup next term.
