Simeone picks Barcelona as LaLiga's best after Atletico beats Real Madrid 2-1
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has named Barcelona the best team in LaLiga so far this season, saying they 'play a different sport' and 'don't fear taking risks.' Simeone made the comment after guiding his side to a 2-1 victory over city rivals Real Madrid on Sunday, a win that came despite Real's early second-half red card to Dean Huijsen. Goals from Alejandro Grimaldo and Jonathan David secured the win for Atletico, with Antonio Rudiger pulling one back late for Real. The result leaves Barcelona six points clear at the top of the table, with Real Madrid's deficit growing.
For Nigerian fans following LaLiga, the update sharpens the title race picture: Barcelona's attacking blend of Raphinha (12 goals) and Yamal (7) has drawn praise even from rivals, while Atletico's win keeps them in contention for a top-two finish. Simeone's remarks also highlight the psychological edge Barcelona currently holds, pressing opponents and accepting occasional goals as part of their aggressive approach.
With the league entering its decisive phase, will you adjust your viewing focus to Barcelona's high-risk, high-reward style, keep backing Real Madrid in hopes of a comeback, or start watching Atletico as the dark horse capable of slipping into the Champions League spots?
