Standard Chartered partners JAN to train 600 Nigerians in digital skills

The 10‑day bootcamp will run in Ondo, Abuja, Rivers and Kaduna states, offering hands‑on training in project management, data analysis, cybersecurity, UI/UX design, IT support and digital marketing. The initiative targets graduates, NYSC members, women and young people from low‑income communities, aiming to bridge skills gaps and improve access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
The programme aligns with the Standard Chartered Foundation’s focus on youth employability and economic participation, seeking to address inequality and create pathways to sustainable employment and entrepreneurship globally. Beyond funding, Standard Chartered employees will volunteer through the Bank’s Skills‑Based Volunteering programme, sharing expertise and mentoring participants.
Olaolu Akogun, Acting Executive Director of JAN, said the partnership builds a workforce ready for the digital age. Joke Adu, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, added that equipping young people with future‑ready skills is a meaningful community investment and that the bank is proud to contribute its people’s expertise through skills‑based volunteering.
As technology reshapes industries, the bootcamp aims to strengthen Nigeria’s digital talent pipeline and improve young people’s access to high‑demand skills.
If you are a graduate, NYSC member, woman or young person from a low‑income community in Ondo, Abuja, Rivers or Kaduna, you may want to check JAN’s official channels for application details and deadlines for this free digital skills training.
