Sunbeth Global Concepts launches Orange Cocoa framework to train 100,000 West African cocoa farmers by 2040
SGC today launched Orange Cocoa, its long-term cocoa sustainability framework built on Better Cocoa, Better Life, and Better Planet pillars. The initiative commits to training 100,000 farmers in good agricultural and environmental practices by 2040, distributing one million hybrid cocoa seedlings across sourcing regions (with 60,000 planned for 2026 alone), and establishing three regional cocoa quality testing hubs.
This framework addresses decades-long challenges in West Africa's cocoa sector—aging farms, unpredictable weather, falling yields, deforestation, child labor, and persistent rural poverty—that have left millions of smallholder farmers as the most vulnerable link in the supply chain. By embedding traceability and due diligence, Orange Cocoa positions SGC to meet EU Deforestation Regulation requirements proactively, securing market access while attracting impact investors and premium contracts.
Under Better Life, SGC will implement a Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System ensuring every at-risk child completes an approved plan within twelve months. Better Planet pledges planting 300,000 shade trees by 2040 to restore biodiversity and improve soil fertility. The framework launches from within origin communities, giving farmers direct access to training and seedling distribution while offering businesses verified sustainable cocoa. Will you engage with SGC's programs as a farmer seeking training/support or a business needing EU-compliant supply chains?
