Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has completed his transfer from Belgian champions Club Brugge to Eintracht Frankfurt, signing a five-year contract that runs until June 2031 and taking the number 25 shirt. The 25-year-old becomes the sixth Nigerian to play for the Bundesliga club, following legends like Austin Okocha, Henry Isaac, Donald Agu, Nduka Anyanwu, and Isaac Ojigwe.

Onyedika brings impressive credentials: two Belgian league titles, Belgian Cup, Belgian Super Cup with Brugge, plus a Danish Cup from his time with FC Midtjylland. He's made 268 senior appearances across all competitions, featured in 24 UEFA Champions League matches over the last three seasons, and earned 26 caps for Nigeria including participation in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Frankfurt's sporting director Markus Krösche praised Onyedika's physicality, tactical understanding, and extraordinary consistency, noting he's been a regular starter in Belgium with trophy-laden seasons. The midfielder is expected to make his unofficial debut in a pre-season friendly against Hull City next weekend, with his competitive bow coming in the DFB-Pokal first-round match against St. Tönis 1911/20 on August 21.

For Nigerian football fans tracking talent abroad, does Onyedika's move to Frankfurt strengthen your belief in the Bundesliga as a viable destination for Super Eagles stars, or will you now prioritize watching Bundesliga matches to spot emerging national team talent?
