Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Zimbabwe's Warriors in the opening match of the 2026 Unity Cup on Tuesday, May 26 at The Valley, home ground of Charlton Athletic. Nigeria enters the tournament as defending champions, having edged past Jamaica 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation time during the last edition.

The four-team international friendly continues the following day when Jamaica's Reggae Boys take on India in the second semi-final, also at The Valley. The third-place play-off and final will both be held at the same venue on Saturday, May 30.

This tournament provides crucial preparation for the Super Eagles ahead of upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Facing Zimbabwe, who have historically been a tough opponent for Nigeria, offers an early test of the team's tactical readiness and player form.

With Nigeria defending their title, the question is: Will the Super Eagles' current squad depth and tactical approach be enough to overcome Zimbabwe's disciplined style and retain the Unity Cup?
