Super Falcons boost WAFCON 2026 prep with 19 players in camp, six more due
Nineteen Super Falcons players have reported to the team’s Hotel Marriott base in Casablanca as they step up preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Six more players—including Michelle Alozie, Deborah Abiodun, Gift Monday, Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi and Uchenna Kanu—are expected to join the camp later this week. Coach Justine Madugu’s side held another training session at the La Noria Club tonight and will remain in Casablanca before moving to Rabat for the tournament this weekend.
Nigeria’s opening match pits the defending champions against the Scorchers of Malawi at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday, 28 July. They will also face Zambia and Egypt in the same group.
