Super Falcons drawn with Zambia in 2026 WAFCON group stages

Nigeria's Super Falcons will face Zambia, Egypt, and Malawi in Group C of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), tournament organizers announced Wednesday. Defending champions Nigeria will play all group matches at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.

The Zambia match revives their 2024 quarter-final clash where Nigeria crushed the Copper Queens 5-0. The Super Falcons, 10-time WAFCON winners, enter as favorites to top Group C and advance to the knockouts.

Group A features hosts Morocco against Algeria, Kenya, and Senegal at Moulay Al Hassan Stadium in Rabat. Former champions South Africa headline Group B with Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Tanzania at Al Madina Stadium, while Ghana and Cameroon meet in Group D alongside Mali and Cape Verde at Complexe Sportif de Fès.

The tournament runs March 17 to April 3, 2026. This edition serves as World Cup qualifiers—the top four African teams will represent the continent at the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil.
