Tangerine Life Insurance paid ₦9.1 billion in claims during 2025, a rise of over 60% from the ₦5.6 billion paid in 2024. Gross premiums also jumped to ₦15.7 billion, nearly 40% higher than the ₦11 billion recorded the previous year. The Group Life segment contributed over ₦9 billion in premiums and paid out more than ₦4 billion in claims, while Credit Life generated ₦300 million in premiums with ₦100 million in claims, and Retail Life posted ₦6.0 billion in premiums and ₦4.5 billion in claims settlements.

The company attributes the growth to an expanding customer base, broader premium portfolio, and a customer‑centric claims process that settles valid claims within 24 hours—a promise branded as the "sweet claims experience." Tangerine Life’s GCR national scale financial strength rating was upgraded to A-(NG) with a Positive outlook, reflecting its financial strength and operational stability in Nigeria’s regulated life insurance market.

The insurer says the rising payouts demonstrate growing policyholder confidence in its ability to deliver on promises, especially when policyholders need financial support most.
