Foreign direct investment into Nigeria's telecommunications sector rebounded sharply in Q3 2025, jumping to $208.51 million from just $14.74 million in the same quarter of 2024. This represents a fourteenfold increase year-on-year, signaling renewed investor confidence after a weak 2024 performance. The surge follows a 50% tariff adjustment approved by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in January 2025, which operators reinvested into network upgrades and rural coverage expansion. Cumulative FDI for 2025 reached $392.92 million, up 23% from 2024, though challenges remain in achieving nationwide broadband penetration due to infrastructure gaps and high costs.
