President Bola Tinubu, in his Independence Day address on Thursday, said his administration will shift from economic reforms to an 'age of prosperity' centred on jobs, enterprise and industrial growth. He promised to support businesses, revive factories in industrial centres, and use Nigeria's gas resources to power new industries. Tinubu also pledged greater digital connectivity, investment in skills employers demand, and expanded access to consumer credit through CREDICORP for vehicles, solar systems, digital devices and other essential assets. He linked private-sector expansion to job creation, noting millions of young Nigerians enter adulthood each year with talent and ambition that must become an engine of production rather than a source of despair. While acknowledging that many families still struggle for meals, school fees, medical bills and transport, he attributed the challenges to decades of low productivity, weak infrastructure and institutions, and called for sustained growth and the creation of millions of productive opportunities nationwide. Tinubu urged Nigerians and businesses to participate in the next phase of economic development, saying the foundation for lasting prosperity has been laid. Will you explore CREDICORP credit options, seek digital skills training, or look for government support to turn your enterprise idea into a viable business?
