President Tinubu declared Nigeria has passed through its economic 'Red Sea' of reforms, announcing prosperity is next in his October 1 Independence Day speech. He cited 4% economic growth this year, substantial inflation decline, rebuilt foreign reserves, and 2025's record $6 billion non-oil exports as proof the hardship of subsidy removal and policy adjustments is yielding results.

The president outlined prosperity as personal: farmers earning decent returns with lower production costs, factories with reliable power, affordable food and transport, accessible education, and job opportunities for youth. His administration will lower living costs by expanding mechanised irrigation, improving farm inputs, completing transport infrastructure, and using gas to power industries. Social support includes strengthening the National Social Register, education loans, and CREDICORP's consumer credit for assets like solar systems.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to look forward, emphasizing that shared prosperity requires sustained growth and productive work. With reforms' foundation laid, will you engage in emerging opportunities like agribusiness or tech, acquire skills for new industries, or remain cautious given unmet past promises?
