President Tinubu has reappointed Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi as Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for a new five-year term, effective February 27, 2026. Audi first became NSCDC chief in 2021 under former President Buhari. The reappointment follows his term ending during World Civil Defence Day events at NSCDC HQ in Abuja. Tinubu charged Audi to reposition NSCDC to support police efforts against bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists. Born September 30, 1967, in Nasarawa State, Audi holds multiple degrees including a PhD in Public Administration and a Master's in Law Enforcement. He joined NSCDC in 1996 and rose through ranks to Commandant-General.
