Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week
President Bola Tinubu is set to return to Nigeria after attending the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW2026) alongside his cabinet members. During the summit, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to strengthen economic ties. The agreement aims to deepen economic cooperation, boost bilateral trade and investment, and promote technology transfer across key sectors. President Tinubu announced that Nigeria and the UAE will jointly host an INVESTOPIA forum in Lagos in February to attract global investors. Nigeria targets $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance to support energy transition reforms and expand electricity access nationwide. The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, said the trade agreement will provide local exporters with a platform to access global markets, with over 7,000 Nigerian product lines allowed into the UAE market duty-free.
