Tinubu set for huge 2027 election win, adviser claims on Channels TV
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, told Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday that Tinubu will win the 16 January 2027 presidential election with a margin so wide it will be unbelievable. He named 18 candidates, including former Vice‑President Atiku Abubakar (ADC), former Anambra Governor Peter Obi (NDC), Omoyele Sowore (AAC) and Sandy Onor of the PDP, and said growing support from opposition‑elected governors would exceed the backing Tinubu received in 2023.
Bwala also defended the administration’s economic reforms—removal of the petrol subsidy and unification of the foreign exchange market—acknowledging they have increased poverty in the short term but insisting the government has made marked progress since their introduction. He said, "More people went down to poverty, acknowledged, but since the reforms started we have made progress," while noting many Nigerians remain poor.
