Tobi Amusan leads Nigerian contingent at Zurich Diamond League final
Tobi Amusan, Ezekiel Nathaniel and Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will headline Nigeria's team at the final Diamond League meeting of the season in Zurich on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The women's pole vault takes place at Zurich train station on Wednesday, with the main programme moving to Letzigrund Stadium on Thursday. Amusan, the world record holder in the 100m hurdles, faces Olympic champion Masai Russell and other top hurdlers. Nathaniel competes in the 400m hurdles against Karsten Warholm and Alison dos Santos, while Enekwechi contests the shot put against world No. 1 Leonardo Fabbri. The meeting offers the last chance to earn qualification points for the Wanda Diamond League Final in Brussels on September 4-5; Amusan and several others have already secured spots, but others need points to stay alive. After Zurich, only the Brussels final and the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest later in September remain on the global athletics calendar.
