The development was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama. According to the post, the suspect was arrested at about 5:35 p.m. on March 27 by troops of the 25 Brigade and 19 Battalion (Mobile), working together with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5'); }); The suspect is said to be from Gwalki village in the Kafa area of Damboa, but currently lives at Hausari Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Maiduguri. Security sources said he is believed to have been collaborating with ISWAP/JAS fighters operating around the Damboa axis. During initial questioning, the suspect reportedly claimed he was part of a hybrid force and had earlier surrendered as a repentant terrorist. However, he later admitted that he has been involved in supplying ammunition to terrorist groups. “He confessed to being involved in the sale of ammunition to terrorist elements at the Timbuktu Triangle through an accomplice identified as Konto Fatima,” Makama said. He added that the accomplice is believed to be living at Aburi IDP camp. The suspect is currently in military custody where further investigation is ongoing.
