The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Saturday by security analyst Zagazola Makama. During the patrol, they encountered the suspected robbers and engaged them with superior firepower. “One of the armed robbers was neutralised during the exchange, while others escaped into nearby bushes with suspected gunshot wounds,” the source told Makama. After the encounter, troops searched the area and recovered a locally made gun, a cutlass, and a knife, among other items. The source added that the soldiers fired six rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition during the operation. Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects, while calm has returned to the affected route, according to the post.
