Metro Troops nab suspected terrorist in Kaduna Published on April 18, 2026 By Hafsat Bello googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1500386953281-8'); }); A suspected terrorist has been arrested by troops in Kaduna State, as fresh intelligence points to violent infighting among rival bandit factions operating across parts of the state. The development was revealed by security analyst, Zagazola Makama in a post on X, where he cited information from military sources. According to the sources, the suspect was apprehended around 6:45 p.m. on April 16, 2026, at the Forward Operating Base in Afaka, located in Igabi Local Government Area. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5'); }); Makama reports that initial findings suggest the suspect fled from a terrorist enclave in Sabon Birni following deadly clashes between two rival bandit leaders, Dogo Gide and Kabiru. The fighting is said to be ongoing along the Kachia–Kagarko–Chikun corridor, an area frequently affected by insecurity. Security officials say the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue. “We are working to verify the claims made by the suspect and gather actionable intelligence on the structure and movements of these groups,” a source familiar with the operation said. Another source indicated that the internal violence among the groups may signal weakening cohesion. “The clashes point to cracks within the networks, and this could be leveraged to disrupt their operations more effectively,” the source noted.
