The security expert noted that the troops responded swiftly with a combination of direct and indirect firepower, overwhelming the attackers and forcing them to retreat in confusion. “The terrorists fled the area under heavy fire from the troops,” he said. Makama stressed that the troops subsequently conducted exploitation of the general area, but no significant items were recovered. He added that troops have maintained heightened vigilance in the area, with intensified patrols and surveillance to prevent further attempts by the insurgents.
