However, he “directed our military to continue the blockade.” Trump’s ceasefire extension came hours before it was believed to be set to expire. It also came as the White House said Vice President JD Vance would not be going to Pakistan for what had been expected to be a second round of peace talks. “The trip to Pakistan will not be happening today. Any further updates on in-person meetings will be announced by the White House,” a White House official said in a statement. But the blockade of ports on Iran’s coast in the Strait of Hormuz will remain in place, Trump said, while the US military will “in all other respects, remain ready and able.” Advertisement googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display("div-gpt-ad-1672587799169-0"); }); The ceasefire, he said, will be extended “until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other.”   Join Our Whatsapp Channel To join: Simply click on the link below & turn on notifications to get the latest updates Subscribe to Our Newsletter In This Article: Ceasefire Donald Trump Iran More Stories 10-Day Israel-Lebanon Truce Begins As Lebanese Army Warns Of ‘Violations’ Trump Agrees To Suspend Bombing Of Iran For Two Weeks China Calls For Ceasefire, Diplomacy To End Middle East Conflict /* * * CONFIGURATION VARIABLES: EDIT BEFORE PASTING INTO YOUR WEBPAGE * * / var disqus_shortname = 'channelstelevision'; // Required - Replace example with your forum shortname / * * DON'T EDIT BELOW THIS LINE * * */ (function() { var dsq = document.createElement('script'); dsq.type = 'text/javascript'; dsq.async = true; dsq.src = '//' + disqus_shortname + '.disqus.com/embed.js'; (document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0] || document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0]).appendChild(dsq); })(); Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.
