Trump also appointed hardline adviser Stephen Miller as chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles—the first staffing casualty of the Republican defeat. Democrats, taking power in January, promise sweeping investigations into Trump family business dealings, Elon Musk's government contracts, federal agency cuts, immigration enforcement, the Iran war, and Jeffrey Epstein-related files. Incoming House Oversight chair Robert Garcia warned: "Lawyer up."
A third impeachment is constitutionally possible but removal requires a two-thirds Senate vote—well beyond Democrats' majority.
