President Donald Trump confirmed his scheduled visit to China will proceed in about five to six weeks, despite ongoing U.S. military operations in Iran. At a meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Trump stated China was 'fine with' the visit and expressed anticipation for meeting President Xi Jinping. Beijing dismissed speculation that the trip might be postponed due to Trump's demand for China's assistance in breaking Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, noting Washington's rebuttal of the 'misguided' news. China and the U.S. remain in communication about the visit dates. Meanwhile, Iran remains defiant, with Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf vowing continued resistance. German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul warned safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz is currently impossible, stating European forces would require agreements with Gulf states and Iran to restore access.
