TV Shipments Flat Globally as China Slumps, Brands Shift Focus
Global TV shipments remained flat year-on-year at 61.5 million units in 4Q25, despite a 25.3% decline in China due to ended subsidies and consumer upgrades. Strong demand in North America (+4.7%) and Western Europe (+3.2%) offset the drop, while developing regions led growth (Latin America +12.5%, Middle East & Africa +9.4%). Chinese brands TCL and Hisense increased overseas shipments by 2.2% to compensate, expanding their North American share from 28.6% to 30.7% despite stricter US compliance. Premium Mini LED and OLED models drove profitability, with OLED shipments growing 8.6% in Western Europe. Brands are betting on US demand for XXL TVs despite rising component costs.
