Earlier today, Ukrainian drones struck a Wildberries logistics centre in Kotovsk, Tambov region, killing seven night-shift workers and injuring 24 others, according to Russian officials. The same night, Moscow faced another wave of drone attacks, with Mayor Sergei Sobyanin saying air defences intercepted more than 370 UAVs, destroying 64 on approach to the city. Wildberries confirmed that two of its complexes - in Kotovsk and Elektrostal - were hit, though the fire at the Tambov warehouse has been contained.

The escalation between Ukraine and Russia can ripple through global markets. Nigeria, already feeling pressure on fuel prices and food imports, may see further volatility in oil and grain costs if the conflict widens. Nigerians with family, business ties or investments in Russia or Ukraine should watch for possible disruptions to remittances, travel or supply chains.

Stay informed through reliable news sources and official advisories from the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If you have connections in the affected regions, consider checking in with them and reviewing any contingency plans. Monitor commodity prices, especially diesel and wheat, as they often react quickly to geopolitical shocks.
