US demands 21-day Ebola isolation for DR Congo World Cup team
US government has imposed a 21-day isolation requirement on DR Congo national team due to Ebola outbreak in the African country. The White House Task Force's Andrew Giuliani stated the team must maintain a 'bubble' in Belgium for 21 days before traveling to Houston on June 11 for the World Cup. 'We've been very clear to Congo that they should maintain the integrity of their bubble for 21 days before they can then come to Houston,' Giuliani said, adding that failure to comply risks their ability to enter the United States for the tournament. The team is currently preparing in Belgium where they're scheduled to play two warmup games. The US has also communicated these requirements to FIFA and the Congolese government.
