US Embassy urges Nigerians to honour visa terms, avoid overstay

US Embassy in Nigeria issued an advisory via its official X account on Tuesday, urging Nigerians traveling to the United States to strictly honour their visa terms. The embassy advised travellers to stay only for the period authorised by their visa, keep their documents updated, and avoid any actions that could jeopardise their eligibility for future entry into the US.

Overstaying a US visa can result in entry bans, negatively affect future visa applications, and harm opportunities for study, work, or tourism. The embassy stressed that compliance is not just the right thing to do but also a safeguard for individual travel prospects, keeping future opportunities open for Nigerian travellers.
