Uzodimma declares Tinubu's performance earns second term right, unveils 4M+ grassroots mobilisation for 2027

Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, declared President Bola Tinubu’s administration performance merits a second term in office. Speaking at the Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Mobilisation Retreat in Abuja on Wednesday, Uzodimma revealed plans to mobilise over four million grassroots supporters nationwide ahead of the 2027 general elections. He outlined a structured architecture deploying 25 canvassers to each of Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units, creating a civic force of 4,421,150 people stretching from national leadership to local government areas, wards and polling units. The mobilisation aims to translate government reforms and achievements into grassroots support while ensuring citizens understand policy benefits without arrogance or insult. Uzodimma cited ongoing infrastructure projects, healthcare interventions, social investment programmes and economic reforms as evidence of the administration’s commitment to national development. The retreat, themed “Building a Unified National Mobilisation Architecture,” is expected to produce a National Grassroots Mobilisation Blueprint, strategic communication frameworks and state-by-state action plans. Participants described the gathering as a coordinated effort to strengthen political engagement and deepen citizen participation as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
