Nigeria's VAT collections reached N2.28 trillion in Q3 2025, up 10.66% from Q2 2025 and 28.10% year-on-year. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) attributes this to sustained domestic consumption, cross-border services, and import-related transactions. Local VAT payments contributed N1.12 trillion, foreign VAT N680.23 billion, and import VAT N479.79 billion. Manufacturing remained the largest contributor at 25.89% of total VAT revenue. This growth suggests improved compliance and sectoral output, though real estate contracted 51.33%. The FAAC data shows VAT allocations to federal, state, and local governments rose to N7.73 trillion in 2025.
