Serie A newcomers Venezia have agreed a €16 million deal with Sevilla to sign Super Eagles striker Akor Adams, after Sevilla initially rejected the Italian club's first offer. The fee makes Adams the most expensive player in Venezia's history. The 26-year-old joined Sevilla from French side Montpellier in January 2025 and, across all competitions, scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 32 appearances. He also represented Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles won the bronze medal, and began his professional career with Norway's Lillestrom, having also played at U-20 level.

Adams' move to Italy's top flight puts a Nigerian forward in a league that has produced several African stars, potentially raising his profile and giving him a regular platform to impress national-team coaches. It also signals the growing market value of Nigerian attackers in Europe.

Will Adams' Serie A move secure him a permanent place in the Super Eagles squad, or will the challenges of adapting to Italian football limit his international appearances? Fans may want to watch his early performances with Venezia to gauge how quickly he adapts and what it means for Nigeria's attacking options.
